COVID-19 Update Out of consideration for the health and safety of our staff and visitors, our office will continue to operate in the same manner across all phases (red, yellow, and green). Our office will remain closed to the public! However, Berks County Veterans Affairs will continue to remain fully operational remotely by telephone and email in order to continue to provide services and guidance for our veterans and their families. We may be accessible in the office on a very limited basis by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Those with appointments will be screened for temperature, must wear a mask, and will be required to maintain a social distance of at least 6 feet. We are asking those with signs or symptoms of illness to refrain from coming into the office.

Mission

The mission of our local Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs is to administer a comprehensive array of benefits programs and provide assistance pertaining to claims to the veterans of Berks County and their dependent widows, widowers, and orphans, in the most expeditious and accountable manner we can. These benefits include those provided by federal, state, and local governments.

Berks County Department of Veterans Affairs is not a federal or state agency, and therefore does not have direct access to all information that is managed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs or the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. We can assist you with your search for information with these departments at any time, but we can advocate on behalf of your claim only when we enter into a limited power of attorney with you.
