When and why should you call a certified elder law attorney?
First, if you do not have a properly-drafted will, power of attorney, and health care power of attorney, you should definitely call my office.
Second, if you prepared these documents 40 years ago when your children were two years old, and now they’re 42 years old, you should also call my office, because you very likely appointed your brother, sister, or parent as the executor or power of attorney. Well, your children are grown and they can handle those on their own.
You should also call my office if someone becomes sick or ill or you’re concerned about dementia or Alzheimer’s, or if you’re just getting older and you want to make sure you can protect and preserve your estate for your children.
You should also call my office whenever you have an issue or a concern with regard to how your estate is planned, and how your estate will be inherited by the next generation.
What do you do in this situation, what do you do in that situation? What if I get sick? What if I go into a nursing home?
You should contact my office to discuss what your options are—to ensure that your estate plan is in proper order and properly drafted with a couple of proper people named, and there will be a proper distribution of your entire estate.
I encourage you to contact my office. As a certified elder law attorney, I can guide you through that process appropriately. I can ask you the proper questions, and not only ensure that your estate is properly handled—I can ensure that you get the right information to make the best decisions for your family.
